Salary - £36,363 - £40,777 (Grade 6)

About the role
Black Country Transport is seeking a Programme Management Office (PMO) Analyst to join its PMO team, supporting the planning, performance and governance of a complex programme of transport and infrastructure investment across the Black Country.
The role offers exposure to high‑profile, cross-authority projects and is well suited to someone with strong analytical and organisational skills who enjoys working with data, reports and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
* Developing and maintaining performance dashboards and reports (including use of tools such as Verto)
* Analysing project and programme data to support planning, performance monitoring and decision‑making
* Tracking milestones, budgets, risks, benefits and cross‑project dependencies
* Supporting reporting and forward planning for Programme Board and assurance meetings
* Quality assuring reports and papers, including highlight reports, risk registers and decision papers
* Supporting due diligence and assurance of business cases prior to submission to governance boards
* Working with finance teams to track spend, forecasts and funding requirements
* Liaising with Legal, Procurement, Finance and ICT to support PMO systems and compliance with corporate processes
* Supporting continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates and ways of working
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
* Experience supporting projects or programmes in a structured environment
* Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and reports
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience in a public sector or multi‑stakeholder environment
* Familiarity with project management or reporting tools
* Experience working with budgets, funding or governance processes
