I am recruiting for a Transport Controller to handle calls from drivers, customers and internal departments. The purpose of the team is to ensure all work is collected by allocating between 800-1100 jobs per day to a team of 35 drivers across London, Bristol and Birmingham.
The role is on site Monday to Friday
* Allocating regular and ad-hoc collections for Drivers
* Allocating rounds to contractors to cover for sickness and holidays.
* Ensuring all previously allocated work is accounted for and checked off
* Supplying customers with waybills, courier bags and mailbags.
* Signing for any incoming packages and informing the recipient of their arrival.
* Use a forklift truck to load and unload vans/lorries.
* Daily contact with other departments
The successful applicant will have:
* Previous experience within a similar environment
* Strong communication skills both written and spoken
* Good geographical knowledge (mainly London, Birmingham, Bristol and Home Counties)
* Ability to work within a fast-paced pressurised environment
