About the role
The Conference Producer leads the end-to-end development and delivery of event content and programming. Through expert research, they identify industry challenges and audience needs to shape a compelling agenda. Responsibilities include defining themes, sourcing and managing speakers, and aligning content delivery with marketing timelines.
Working closely with marketing and sales, the producer shares industry insights to support messaging and uncover commercial opportunities. They ensure speakers are well-prepared and confident, and collaborate to deliver high-quality web content, communications, and schedules.
The role includes budget responsibility for paid speakers and managing relationships with speaker bureaus. While not a line manager, the producer provides clear briefs and regular updates to ensure smooth execution.
This strategic and operational role requires strong skills in research, stakeholder engagement, and content development. The producer also contributes programme development, event production, and on-site operations, ensuring events meet revenue, expenditure, and profit targets.
Responsibilities.
1. Conduct thorough industry research through calls, meetings, surveys, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Build and maintain a network of industry experts to inform programme development.
3. Monitor industry trends and competitor events to inspire new formats and ideas.
4. Develop strategic, audience-focused conference agendas and formats based on customer insights.
5. Secure and manage high-profile speakers and sponsored content in alignment with event goals.
6. Collaborate across marketing, sales, and operations to deliver impactful content and drive audience engagement.
Requirements
7. Proven experience in conference production, content strategy, or event management.
8. Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into compelling programmes.
9. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse audiences.
10. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
11. Comfortable working with data and feedback to improve event outcomes.
12. Experience with speaker acquisition and managing sponsored content.
13. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and operations.
