Chef Manager
* Annual Salary: Up to £28,500
* Location: N1226
* Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
* Working Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Join our team as a Chef Manager, where you will oversee our dynamic kitchen operations. This role is perfect for someone passionate about culinary excellence and team leadership. You will ensure high standards of food preparation and kitchen management, adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, and manage budgets and stock effectively.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Oversee all areas of the kitchen including food preparation and culinary activities.
* Ensure menu compliance with recipes and guidance, maintaining high standards of taste and quality.
* Manage the onsite team, ensuring effective team management and staff development.
* Conduct ordering and stock rotation to ensure fresh supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
* Implement portion control and cost management to maintain kitchen efficiency and reduce waste.
* Uphold all health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with Environmental Health Organisation (EHO) requirements and site standards.
* Organise and manage functions, with overtime compensation for events after 5 PM.
* Handle special requirements for inset days and annual training to ensure compliance and readiness for health inspections.
* Manage stock takes and order supplies for holiday periods, ensuring readiness for new terms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
* Strong leadership skills and experience in team management.
* Knowledge of best practices for ordering, stock rotation, and budgeting.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
