Job Description
The opportunity exists for an experienced Business Development Manager to join AFRY’s Energy Division within the expanding Thermal and Renewable Energy team in the UK and EMEA.
Our Thermal and Renewable Energy Team supports clients through all project stages, including feasibility studies, technology assessments, due diligence, FEED studies, owner’s engineer services, EPCM, O&M support, and expert witness services.
As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in growing the Thermal and Renewable Energy business in the UK and support activities across the EMEA region, collaborating with colleagues in other offices (e.g., Finland, Switzerland, Italy, Dubai).
Your Tasks:
* Strengthening relationships with existing clients and forging new partnerships.
* Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
* Understanding contracts, framework agreements, and tendering processes.
* Leading tender processes, bid scheduling, compliance, and documentation.
* Coordinating with key personnel to meet deadlines.
* Fostering learning and improvement among bidding and business development colleagues.
* Staying informed on industry trends, competitor analysis, and client needs to inform strategy.
* Managing client data using Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
Qualifications:
* A degree in process, mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering.
* Experience in business development within engineering services.
* A proven track record of winning and managing profitable work.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex issues for diverse audiences, with fluency in business English.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
* Comfortable working under pressure, with tight deadlines, and willing to travel as required.
Experience with one or more of the following is advantageous but not essential:
* Established network and insight into the UK energy market.
* BD experience in the EMEA region.
* Knowledge of a second language (e.g., French, Italian).
