Overview
Are you a university graduate with the aspiration, enthusiasm, and talent to help shape sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world? Airbus seeks bright minds from around the globe to fill critical roles that will shape our future. The Airbus Global Graduate Programme accelerates your growth through a two-year, personalized development journey, with a strong emphasis on leadership potential from day one.
The programme is designed to cultivate your professional skills, enhance your business acumen, and hone your technical abilities. You will join a global graduate community for a dedicated development week each year to connect with peers, learn from seasoned leaders, and gain insights from the industry. You will be developed into an established and valuable team member from day 1.
What you will be doing
You will join the team dedicated to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Methods and Processes within the Airframe Engineering organization, developing inspection and sensing methods for aircraft structures. Inspection is a key enabler of the aircraft industry, ensuring quality and safety, and contributing to product development lead time and manufacturing cost. You will develop into thinking about inspection as part of tests and manufacturing processes with built-in quality features, changing the paradigm of structures inspection.
You will work in a transnational team of professionals in physics used for inspection (optics, acoustics, electromagnetics, radiography), integrating hardware and software competencies including state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence. Your development pathway includes two rotational placements to support growth into the role of Airframe Inspection & Sensing Methods Leader, involving:
* Leading the development of NDT/inspection solutions: sensing technology and associated processing algorithms
* Designing and running tests to develop, validate and qualify the inspection solutions in their application environment (structures tests and manufacturing)
* Interacting with colleagues from aircraft programs to understand needs and translate into technical work plans
* Being at the crossroads of structures tests, NDT and manufacturing to provide fit-for-purpose inspection solutions supporting future aircraft programs
Throughout the two-year development programme you will have developed into the position of Airframe Inspection & Sensing Methods Leader.
What we are looking for
* A MSc degree in Physics, Mechanics, Aerospace or Applied Mathematics
* Ability to prototype scientific software solutions with Python or Matlab
* Competences in data processing / data science
* Competences in simulation of physics
* Strong verbal and written communication in English
* A desire to work in a collaborative team environment focused on driving future innovation
