This is a multi-disciplinary role for an individual who is a proactive team player who enjoys the physical aspect of manual handling activities within a busy production environment. Responsibilities will include accurate counting and sorting parts by eye and by reading job sheets along with moving parts from the production areas to the dispatch area. It is essential to have a good understanding of how to work methodically and to be able to shift priorities depending on the direction of the supervision given. Manual housekeeping and health and safety responsibilities are accountable within this role. Key Responsibilities Loading and unloading sheet metal and laser cut and bent parts manually or using the appropriate lifting aids on and off laser beds, using the PPE provided. Safely manoeuvring trollies or boxes of cut parts across the shop floor when appropriate from the machines to the dispatch area. Assisting with the general organisation of the production areas, ensuring that pallets are loaded in safe areas avoiding traffic routes, and parts are sorted according to their specific needs between bubble wrap, boxes and pallets. Carrying out general housekeeping duties, including cleaning and sanitising work areas and assisting with machinery cleaning where required. Following all Health and Safety guidelines at all times and supporting the team on housekeeping tasks. Support Production Operatives in the handling of oversized parts or waste skeleton material or any other tasks requiring an extra pair of hands. Recycling all delivery materials such as cardboard, plastic etc. in line with company procedures. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production flow and support dispatch activities upon request. Completing sign off on relevant paperwork including non-conformance and shortages. Reporting to senior staff any discrepancies found. Any other activities required by the Supervisor / Production Manager. What We’re Looking For Physically capable of the required manual handling duties within a production environment. Punctual, dependable, and willing to learn. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Basic computer skills. Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment desirable but not essential. Able to reliably commute to our Braintree site. Over 18 years old and should have a minimum of maths and English GCSEs.
