Our Aerospace Client based in Filton UK have a requirement to support their Technology design programs, concentrating on Composite formed spars, spar tool design, AFP design and RTM products. A Composite designer is required for their advanced composite technology programme. The candidates must have strong technical experience with composites, preferably with next generation advanced composites and composite wingtips.
Program Aim
The aim of the program is to develop new composite methods to accurately predict the strength and performance of composite structures using next generation manufacturing techniques. To accomplish this, several composite structural wingbox type demonstrators are planned to be designed, manufactured and tested to validate the stress and manufacturing methods and gain insight to the performance of the composite technology.
Role
Our client requires a designer to support a composite demonstrator program; a designer will be required to have good baseline composite (CPS) skills. This is an interesting role working at the cutting edge of new composite design and analysis.
Key Skills
* CATIA V5
* Composite Product Design (CPD)
* Engineering to design standards and requirements
* Generate DFM datasets
* Generate compensated tooling surfaces
* Support to tooling suppliers
* Provide engineering support to manufacturing teams as required
* Provide post manufacture product engineering assessment
Location and Working Arrangements
The selected Engineer will be required to work from our client’s Filton Offices, with Hybrid working available: 3 days onsite and 2 days from home for the right candidate.
