Assistant Accountant
Location: Tamworth
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Contract: Permanent / Full-Time
About the Role
Here at Gleeson we are delighted to partner with our valued client, a growing and forward thinking organisation, in their search for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Working closely with the wider finance team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month‑end processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Support month‑end processes including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
Produce regular financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
Maintain accurate financial records and support audit processes
Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance function
Provide ad‑hoc financial support as required
Skills & Requirements:
Actively studying AAT or looking to start ACCAACCA/CIMACIMA
Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
Good understanding of accounting principles
Strong Excel skills and ability to work with financial systems
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Experience within a similar management accounts support role
Exposure to budgeting/forecasting processes
