1. Operate packaging machinery of several types at varying stages of the production line
2. Sort and weigh products after packaging to ensure requirements are met and that no mistakes have been made
3. Apply labels and transfer products to the final shipping area, keeping them organised to aid in shipping crew’s job
4. Complete administrative tasks at the beginning, during and end of a shift,. records for quality assurance purposes, carefully ensuring all information is entered correctly and clearly
5. Observe the production line ahead of you to anticipate and check for errors and apply adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards and optimise line speed
6. Report malfunctions or errors to supervising staff immediately, relaying key information
7. Perform simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks and co-operate with engineering colleagues, to ensure your machine remains functional, safe and efficient to operate
8. Support colleague machine operators to ensure that no one becomes fatigued or distracted.
9. Two years’ experience of manufacturing or machine operations preferred, or the aptitude and desire to learn and work well in this environment
10. Meets defined standards of reading, writing and speaking using the English language
11. Able to work shifts including nights and, at peak times, weekends
12. After training, able to work effectively within a small team, on own initiative without close supervision on a self-managing basis
13. Methodical, disciplined, keen attention to detail, easily able to follow standard procedures.
