Thorn Baker Construction have teamed up with one of the UKs leading installers of high quality masonry. They are looking to appoint an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to work on high end stone & masonry packages across the Wakefield area. The Role;

This is a dual Estimating & QS position, offering involvement across both pre-construction and commercial delivery.

You'll work closely with the senior team, clients, and contractors to ensure projects are competitively priced, commercially controlled, and delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities;

Estimating:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for stone and masonry packages
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Obtain and analyse subcontract and supplier quotes
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Support bid presentations and client discussions

Quantity Surveying:

• Manage projects commercially from award through to final account
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability
• Liaise with site teams to track progress and costs
• Manage subcontractor packages and payments

What We're Looking For;

• Experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or combined Estimator/QS
• Background within stone, masonry, specialist subcontracting, or construction/fitout
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Good commercial awareness and cost control skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
