DESCRIPTION

The Production Planning Team ensures Amazon's Fulfillment Centers have robust and cost-efficient labor plans while continuously innovating to improve our customers' experience. You will collaborate with stakeholders and data sources to recommend ongoing hourly staffing plans and shift structures across our European Fulfillment Centers. We seek a passionate, analytical, and technical individual who will dive deep to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the planning process.
The analyst will influence network-level strategic decisions by partnering with senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have an analytical background supporting network planning and the ability to think broadly and strategically about operational initiatives. They will handle a wide range of problem-solving situations, requiring extensive data collection and analysis, working closely with FC operations leadership, HR, finance, supply chain, transportation, workforce staffing, and others.
Key job responsibilities
1. Engage with business and finance teams to gather, analyze, and present data.
2. Support forecasting using trend analysis and statistical modeling to inform decision-making.
3. Manage production planning, cost, and service optimization.
4. Develop short, medium, and long-term operational plans to minimize staffing costs.
5. Analyze business problems, identify root causes of data deviations, and identify opportunities for improvement.
6. Communicate complex analysis and insights effectively to stakeholders and leadership, both verbally and in writing.
7. Participate in global operational and production planning initiatives and project rollouts.
8. Propose and promote process improvements and standardization across all sites in the network.
9. Collaborate remotely with colleagues and teams in the EU and worldwide.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, or related field.
* Experience translating roadmaps, KPIs, and recommendations to senior leaders.
* Experience in quantitative research or analysis.
* Experience in program/project management.
* Proficiency with SPSS, SAS, or other statistical software.
* Experience with SQL.
* Advanced skills in Excel and Access.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with Advanced Planning & Optimization Systems or ERP systems, and influencing technical teams.
* Operations Research or Capacity Planning experience.
* Programming skills for automation.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean techniques.
* Understanding of Distribution and Manufacturing Resource Planning.
* Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, ambiguous environment, meet deadlines, and develop creative solutions.
* Strong collaboration skills with operations, finance, and planning leaders to optimize supply chain impacts.
