About the role
* Full‑time role with flexibility considered
* Work‑life balance is important – we offer as much flexibility as possible
* Based at Newcastle or Midlands (Derby/Kettering)
* Regular travel across the UK to visit all manufacturing and logistics sites
What you’ll do
* Lead our Operational Efficiency team across manufacturing, logistics and transport
* Develop team succession plans and deploy labour utilisation tools across sites
* Introduce control systems and a Greggs Operating System to improve supply chain performance
* Lead and coordinate central Supply Planning Team activities aligned with strategic and operational goals
* Influence senior stakeholders to ensure site teams have the right resources to meet customer demand
* Ensure Commercial Team is aligned and working towards shared objectives
* Use data and BI insights to identify site improvements and lead automation studies
* Promote a culture of customer focus, achievement and accountability across planning and efficiency teams
* Oversee resource planning to maximise value and support wider business initiatives
* Ensure labour deployment meets statutory requirements and reflects best practice
* Lead budget planning and identify cost‑saving opportunities across the supply chain
* Communicate progress and initiatives clearly across sites and leadership teams
* Collaborate with systems and communications managers to ensure tools and messages drive engagement and efficiency
About you
* Proven senior management experience in operational efficiency/workforce planning
* Track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within a central supply chain function
* Experience managing and delivering a significant budgetary responsibility
* Ability to think about the wider picture and make sound decisions
* Experience working with and influencing senior management
* Experience developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning
* Strong systems knowledge and capability
