Join Our Management Team: Logistics Manager
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to take ownership of our Inbound & Outbound logistics and inventory operations, driving efficient, compliant, and cost-effective processes across the UK and international markets.
This is a newly created, high-impact role offering real autonomy and influence. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will shape strategy, build robust processes, and lead a high-performing team, becoming the central point of leadership for logistics, inventory, and trade-related operations.

What is the job about?
The Logistics Manager is responsible for developing and executing the Company’s logistics and inventory strategy, ensuring operations support business growth, customer service, and financial objectives. The role combines strategic planning with operational leadership, overseeing inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, inventory control, freight forwards performance, budgeting, and compliance.
Success in this role is measured through strong governance, effective KPI management, high service levels (OTIF), regulatory compliance, cost control, and the development of a capable and engaged logistics and inventory team.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver logistics and inventory strategy aligned with business objectives
* Oversee day to day logistics (domestic and international), warehousing, and inventory operations
* Manage freight partners, contracts, SLAs, and performance
* Maintain accurate inventory control, audits, and stock optimisation
* Ensure production materials availability and OTIF delivery performance
* Manage logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
* Establish KPIs, reporting, and governance frameworks
* Ensure compliance with customs, trade, transport, and H&S regulations
* Lead, develop, and resource a high-performing logistics and inventory team
About You
You are a proactive logistics leader with strong operational and commercial experience. You are comfortable working independently, building structure and process, and influencing across functions in a regulated environment whilst leading a high performing team across the business.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
* Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or transport management
* Strong knowledge of inventory management and warehousing operations
* Experience managing international freight and customs compliance
* Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
* Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving capability
* Experience with ERP systems (IFS preferred) and MS Office
Desirable
* Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related discipline
* CILT or equivalent professional qualification
* Qualified customs professional or strong customs compliance experience
* Experience in defence or highly regulated industries
