The Role
We are seeking a bright and motivated
Temporary Legal Assistant
to join our team from
October to December 2025
, with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience and contribute meaningfully to our busy practice during a critical period.
You will work closely with our solicitors and Managing Partner, assisting across several areas of practice management, client care, and legal support.
Key Responsibilities
Document Management and Quality Control:
Reviewing and updating firm templates for legal compliance, clarity, and consistency. Gathering feedback from solicitors and implementing improvements. Organising and maintaining the firm's document repository with proper categorisation, revision logs, and security controls. Ensuring document accuracy, professional, plain-English, and aligned with firm branding and style guidelines. Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Professional Conduct of Solicitors Rules.
Client Onboarding and Case Management:
Managing client onboarding, compliance checks, and case management system entries. Handling client communications (telephone, email, and in-person) professionally. Maintaining organised electronic and paper files. Assisting solicitors with document preparation, drafting, and legal correspondence
General Administrative Support: Providing general administrative support to the legal team as needed. Assisting with managing incoming and outgoing correspondence confidentially. Supporting solicitors with the preparation and drafting of legal documentation.
About You
* Law degree (LLB or equivalent) or relevant legal training/experience
* Previous legal assistant/paralegal/secretarial experience preferred
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with case management systems
* Able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines in a busy team environment
What We Offer
* Competitive pro-rata salary: £28,000–£30,000 (depending on experience)
* Part Time on-site role in our Richmond offices
