At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Senior Construction Manager at our Hinkley Point C site.
This is a great opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project, focusing on the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling, and support services, ensuring seamless integration and coordination.
The Role
As a Senior Construction Manager, you’ll be involved in a major project with national significance. Your responsibilities include:
* Ensuring project delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards, while promoting health and safety compliance.
* Providing strong HSE leadership and building a compliant safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.
* Managing daily construction and site engineering activities, ensuring adherence to safe systems of work.
* Managing interfaces between MEH partners and subcontractors to ensure smooth building delivery.
* Leading, managing, and motivating the construction team with best practices.
* Conducting productivity reviews and analyzing engineering design deliverables.
* Managing Change processes promptly and effectively.
* Implementing Completions processes early, interfacing with relevant leads.
Please note: The successful candidate must pass a targeted medical questionnaire/examination as a condition of employment.
This is a full-time role, based on-site at Hinkley Point C, with a 37-hour workweek.
Essential Experience
* Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably Nuclear.
* Mechanical experience preferred; electrical and HVAC considered.
* Proven track record in delivering major construction projects.
* Skills in stakeholder management, organization, planning, quality, health, and safety.
* Ability to build strong relationships with employees and contractors.
* Experience with Joint Venture Partnerships.
Qualifications
* Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
* Professional accreditation (e.g., Project Management, Construction, Engineering).
* IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
* Security Clearance (must achieve and maintain BPSS clearance).
