Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to enhance the quality of life for our residents in a residential care home environment. The ideal candidate will have experience particularly with dementia and Alzheimer's care, and will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical wellness, and cognitive stimulation among residents.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
* Coordinate daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and outings.
* Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages resident participation.
* Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of ability.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the programme.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on activities.
* Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a care settings is essential.
* Background knowledge particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care, is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
* A compassionate approach to caregiving with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of seniors.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Creative thinking skills to develop innovative programmes that meet the diverse needs of residents.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£12.25 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
