Qualifications and Experience Required
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*
Degree in English, English Literature, or a closely related subject
*
Experience teaching across key stages, ideally including GCSE and A-Level
*
Evidence of strong subject knowledge and commitment to professional development
*
Ability to deliver lessons that engage, challenge, and support all learners, including SEN, high-ability, and EAL students
Key Responsibilities
*
Teach English across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, ensuring progress and attainment for every student
*
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
*
Deliver timely feedback, set homework, and run booster or enrichment sessions
*
Contribute to curriculum planning and extra-curricular development
*
Promote reading, English as a subject choice, and embed SMSC, PSHE, diversity, and inclusion
*
Serve as a form tutor, building positive relationships with students and parents
*
Maintain a safe, stimulating, and structured learning environment
*
Participate in school life, including supervisory duties, lunch duties, and enrichment activities
