Job Summary
We are recruiting for an Analytical Support Officer to join our Risk Assessment, Selection and Forecasting (RASF).

Analytical Support Officers within the RASAF team usually specialise in one remit area: schools, further education and skills, early years, or social care.

They develop expertise in the data for their remit area; develop the technical skills to extract, quality assure and analyse data appropriately; develop an understanding of the policy context; and deliver high quality outputs.

Proficiency in Excel is desirable, both for analysis and inspection selection. Experience in R, SQL or similar coding languages is advantageous, both for extraction of relevant data for analysis and for inspection forecasting purposes.

Qualifications
A Level 3 qualification (e.g. A level) in a numerate subject or equivalent relevant knowledge and experience or professional qualification. (Essential)

RSS ordinary certificate in statistics or equivalent or higher qualification incorporating statistics. (Desirable)

Technical skills

The selection panel will assess your application based on your evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in the person specification.

You will also be asked to provide information within the "Employer/Activity History" section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).

Interview
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an interview at where they will be assessed against a mixture of the Civil Service behaviours and the experience skills set out in section 2 of the job specification.
