You will be joining an expanding team of medical dietitians based at Scarborough Hospital, with support from the wider medical dietetic team of over 20 dietitians within our Trust. This post would be suitable for a candidate that is looking to progress their clinical and leadership skills within general medicine dietetics, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
You will be proactive, organised and looking to gain more experience and knowledge in clinical coordination of the general medical inpatient caseload, and diabetes outpatient clinics. Overseeing the more complex general medicine caseload, including antenatal diabetes outpatient care,and general medicine inpatientcaresuch as nutrition support including social circumstances,learning disability with and without enteral feedingand home enteral feeding discharges.
The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.
Main duties of the job
You will have the opportunity to work with many experienced dietitians across the wider medical dietetic team, as well as within broader multi-professional teams. You will be working with other dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners, and together you will provide inpatient services across areas, including general medicine, gastroenterology, neurology care of the elderly, stroke and acuterenal disease.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to lead the nutrition and hydration education program for theYork and Scarborough Hospital sites, which is an exciting new opportunity which will support your leadership development.
The department places a strong emphasis on peer support and clinical supervision, and has a well-established programme facilitating the training of dietetic students on the three clinical placements included within their educational training.

Essential criteria
8. HCPC registered Dietitian
9. Evidence of relevant CPD activities
Desirable criteria
10. Evidence of postgraduate training within specialist area
11. Practice placement supervisor qualification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
12. Experience in a relevant junior role, including the management of a range of conditions, with evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision
13. Evidence of ability to manage complex clinical presentations
14. Experience in delivering clinical treatment within specialist area
15. Understanding of current issues in health care Standards of Professional Practice
16. Experience in assessment and provision of specialist equipment

17. Experience in the use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment
18. Developed / Specialist clinical skills within relevant area
19. Experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area
