Job Description
Strategic Development & Execution
3. Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities across categories
4. Monitor tech and market trends to drive cost improvements
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business needs
6. Develop and implement sourcing plans covering:Early supplier engagementCost-saving initiativesTendering and contractingCapacity managementSupplier performance targets
7. Track and adapt strategies to evolving business conditions
8. Establish and manage supplier performance metrics
9. Implement supply contracts and service level agreements
🚚 Supplier Performance & Delivery
10. Build strong relationships with key suppliers to meet performance goals
11. Communicate supply base plans for manufacturing and volume changes
12. Support programme launches with timely, cost-effective supply solutions
13. Respond to risk alerts and ensure supplier business continuity plans
🤝 Teamwork & Self Development
14. Promote effective communication across the supply chain
15. Address supplier performance issues within category
16. Align supply base with business performance expectations
17. Support category managers and pursue personal development
18. Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
🧭 Supply Base Management & Coordination (Lead Buyer Role)
19. Lead supplier performance reviews and annual negotiations
20. Publish technology roadmaps and create budgets
21. Agree on payment terms and long-term agreements (LTAs)
22. Oversee business continuity and supplier survey feedback
23. Define communication strategies and confirm supplier capacity
24. Support warranty recovery and manage end-of-life planning
25. Mitigate supplier admin issues and lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
26. Conduct supplier positioning analysis
