Summary
A licensed practitioner responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes. Performs a wide variety of radiologic and CT scan examinations in accordance with established protocols, procedures, and techniques.
Position Responsibilities
* Perform diagnostic radiologic/CT scan procedures, employing practical and professional experience to provide high‑quality images for patients based on age, body habitus, and/or disease process.
* Obtain and verify all pertinent information prior to the procedure to support successful completion of the examination, including physician order, patient history, previous reports, etc. Administer patient preparations according to established department protocols, demonstrating concern for patient comfort, privacy, and safety.
* Apply principles of radiation safety and protection at all times; use shielding and measures to reduce radiation exposures whenever possible. Provide coverage for the Diagnostic Radiology and CT scan department while coordinating patient flow and supporting patient volumes.
Position Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of one year experience in CT preferred.
Required Education
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
Training, Certifications & Licensure
* Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
* N.J. DEP licensure required.
* Advanced level ARRT certification in CT scan technology preferred.
* If not CT certified, employee must provide proof of completing formal education within six months of hire.
* CPR certification required.
Hourly Rate
$35.09 – $54.43 (actual rate will vary based on experience and internal equity).
