We have an exciting roles for one senior pharmacy technician to work with Clinical ward teams to ensure appropriate medicines management and with the Patient Services team to supervise and co-ordinate the work of the dispensaries at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust - St Helier site.
We’re a close-knit bunch, united in our purpose to providing a first-class service to our patients, whilst looking out for one another as a first-class team!
It’s fast paced and you’ll need a good eye for detail as well as excellent customer care skills in order to liaise effectively with our patients, and MDT members. You must be a qualified accredited checking technician (ACPT).

Main duties of the job
To closely work with the clinical teams in Medicine, Surgery and Women's and Children areas to complete medicines reconciliation and ensure appropriate medicines management and to assist with the day to day operational organisation of the dispensaries, including the safe, efficient and timely dispensing of prescriptions following departmental policy, to meet the needs of the patient and the pharmacy department.

Experience
Essential criteria
1. Post qualification hospital experience
2. Experience in supervision of staff
3. Patient counselling
4. Effective communication skills, verbal and written
5. Proven organisational skills
6. Competent in all areas of dispensing practice.
Desirable criteria
7. Experience with the CMM (formerly JAC) pharmacy computer system
8. Understanding of and participation in data collection for KPIs and audit
9. Dispensing/supply of clinical trials

10. Ability to organise own workload and that of others
11. Computer literate for dispensing and stock keeping/issue purposes
12. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work

14. BTEC / NVQ Level 3 Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with GPhC
15. Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) Certificate.
16. Experience as MMT in the NHS

17. NVQ Practice and/or Educational Supervisor
