Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Technician based in Tilbury, Essex. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will provide electro-mechanical cover for our mill and automated packing line that produces and delivers wheat flour over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days per week. The working hours are on a three-week Rota of earlies days and late’s with a commitment to being on call one weekend in four (post satisfactory completion of the probationary period).
Your Responsibilities
1. Working within the Company Safety and Health guidelines.
2. Maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment within the plant so that it is capable of working at optimum performance.
3. Investigating and undertaking electrical and mechanical breakdown repairs and fault finding within the plant.
4. Participating in an out-of-hours call-out cover rota for breakdowns (post a satisfactory completion of the probationary period).
5. Ensuring food safety compliance requirements are met within the plant.
6. Developing and executing small projects within the Plant environment.
7. To be able to spec and order replacement parts for the Plant equipment.
8. To issue permits and control on site contractors.
Your Profile
The candidate Must:
1. Trained to City and Guilds or equivalent, or be a qualified time served multi skilled engineer.
2. Be competent in working with voltages of up to 415.
3. Be computer literate with various Microsoft packages.
4. Knowledge of PLCs would be advantageous.
5. Fabricating and welding experience would be advantageous.
6. Proven track record of multi skilling experience.
A good level of electrical and mechanical skills together with a level of competence in process control engineering.
