Your Dream Role:
As the Head of Scarborough Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial accuracy of the site and providing insightful analysis on financial variances. Your role involves analysing manufacturing costs, identifying areas for cost efficiency improvement, and making recommendations to drive operational excellence.
Purpose of Role: Reporting directly to the Head of UK Finance and with a dotted line to the General Manager of the Manufacturing Business Unit, this role is pivotal in driving improvements in labour, materials, overheads, and working capital. You will work closely with the local operations team, providing leadership in various improvement projects and ensuring adherence to monthly reporting deadlines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provide senior finance support to the Scarborough General Manager.
* Act as an integral member of the site leadership team.
* Ensure timely and accurate submission of Scarborough's monthly management accounts.
* Collaborate closely with the on-site management team through meetings, calls, and reports.
* Identify and drive proactive cost avoidance activities.
* Deliver timely and relevant KPIs to promptly address issues affecting financial goals.
* Identify key areas for improvement, agree with the management team, and drive towards agreed goals.
* Support inventory controls and reporting, ensuring accuracy in line with Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) requirements.
KPIs/Deliverables:
* Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting for Scarborough.
* Own the costing process for the site, ensuring accuracy and feedback to relevant parties.
* Drive overhead performance through accurate forecasting and understanding of costs.
* Review and present site pack to Senior Management Team (SMT).
* Monitor KPIs daily/weekly to drive site performance.
* Clearly report and understand cost of sales variances across the management team.
* Deliver the budget in line with the timetable and with high-quality interrogation of the numbers.
* Analyse key data to provide Continuous Improvement Targets and Plans.
* Lead, monitor, and report on key projects to ensure successful delivery.
* Adhere to ICFR through inventory controls and processes.
Skills and Experience:
* Qualified accountant with experience in a manufacturing/operations environment.
* Experience in a cost reporting environment.
* Proficiency in Excel and analysis skills.
* Inquisitive approach with good problem-solving skills and systems exposure.
* Strong team leadership and player abilities with a drive to achieve goals.
* Ambitious approach to driving change across the business.
* Excellent communication skills.
