Job Description
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Corporate Services & Company Secretary, the Governance Manager will:
3. Develop and maintain governance frameworks and policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Provide expert advice to the leadership team on governance matters within the not-for-profit sector.
5. Coordinate board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas, reports, and minutes.
6. Monitor and report on governance risks and implement mitigation strategies.
7. Act as the main point of contact for governance-related queries within the organisation.
8. Ensure accurate records of governance documentation are maintained and updated.
9. Support the development and delivery of governance training for staff and board members.
10. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to uphold best practices in governance.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Governance Manager should have:
11. A strong understanding of governance practices and regulatory requirements in the not-for-profit sector.
12. Ideally hold a CGI (previously ICSA qualification)
13. Experience managing governance processes, including board and committee support.
14. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
15. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
16. The ability to analyse and manage risks related to governance frameworks.
17. Proficiency in maintaining accurate governance documentation and records,
18. Hybrid working model with an HQ in Liverpool
19. A relevant qualification or background in governance, compliance, or a related field.
