Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Skills Trainer to join our Engineering & Electrical Apprenticeship team at the Ruddington Campus. The role delivers high-quality theoretical and practical training across CNC, CAD, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, PLCs, instrumentation and control, to Level 3, and supports delivery of Level 4 HTQ Engineering Apprenticeships and future Level 4 Lead Engineer content. The successful candidate will create engaging lessons, assess learning and provide developmental feedback, develop Schemes of Work and resources, and ensure apprentices meet awarding‑body requirements, contributing to quality assurance processes, audits, standardisation and EQA compliance.

Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering with strong mechanical knowledge gained through hands‑on experience in maintenance, diagnostics, automation or related fields. Solid understanding of engineering principles including maths, science, systems and materials, and the confidence to deliver both theory and practical learning. A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable, but not essential. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required. Experience in CNC, CAD, Hydraulics, PLCs or related disciplines is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
£33,742 to £42,182 per annum (FTE, pro rata for part‑time). 35 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and the option to purchase up to 5 additional days.
