Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary Worthing - West Sussex A well-regarded legal practice is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary to join its busy residential conveyancing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in conveyancing who enjoys working in a collaborative and client-focused environment. The Role: You will provide comprehensive support to fee earners and play a key role in progressing residential property transactions. Responsibilities include: Opening new files using the case management system (training available) Conducting identity checks and land registry searches Submitting land registry applications and SDLT returns Preparing contracts and supporting documents Applying for local authority searches Drafting financial statements Assisting with property completions Liaising with clients, estate agents, and third parties in person and by telephone Key Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate will have: Prior experience as a legal assistant/secretary in residential conveyancing Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong typing abilities High attention to detail and accuracy A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Additional Details: This role is anticipated to be full-time, although working hours and salary are negotiable based on experience.
