We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at Heathrow IRC, an Immigration Removal Centre located in West Drayton. Heathrow IRC combines Colnbrook and Harmondsworth removal centres under one management structure, making it the largest immigration removal centre in Europe, with a capacity of 965 residents.
Hours: Monday - Sunday, 9am - 5pm, based on 37.5 hours per week.
The mental health team consists of 9 members, working closely with substance misuse and physiology teams. You will be based in the healthcare department.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing healthcare to patients, promoting health and well-being within the prisoner population.
2. Assessing and managing caseloads for those referred to mental health services.
3. Working as part of an integrated primary and secondary care model.
4. Carrying out comprehensive assessments, communicating treatment options, and developing supportive care plans.
5. Working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis within a multidisciplinary team.
6. Modeling a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication, and competence.
Candidate requirements:
* Social Worker - HCPC / NMC Registered.
* Experience in mental health settings and understanding of this patient group.
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
* Experience collaborating with agencies in a multidisciplinary environment.
Ideal but not essential: experience in hospital, community, or prison environments. Secure environments are challenging but rewarding. This role offers opportunities to develop healthcare skills and learn in a dynamic environment.
