Due to growth my client, a Hard FM services provider are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
The role:
Being based from their Dartford Head Office, as a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that are crucial to the tendering and project management processes.
Your primary responsibilities as Quantity Surveyor will include:
* Organising and leading the preparation of tenders for various projects, ensuring compliance with all technical and financial requirements.
* Collaborating with the project team to gather essential information and develop comprehensive bid strategies.
* Conducting technical reviews of tender documents to ensure alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
* Identifying potential risks and opportunities and proposing value engineering solutions.
* Evaluating and analysing the financial aspects of tender returns, including cost estimates, pricing strategies, and profitability assessments.
* Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
* Managing project budgets, tracking costs, and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conducting cost-value reconciliations and providing timely reports to project stakeholders.
* Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service delivery.
* Evaluating subcontractor quotes and negotiating terms and conditions.
* Generating accurate and detailed reports, including financial summaries, risk assessments, and progress reports.
* Maintaining comprehensive records of all bid-related documentation and correspondence.
* Staying up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure full compliance in tender submissions and project execution.
* Ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Skills Required:

* Proven experience in bid management and quantity surveying within the mechanical and electrical contracting industry.
* Strong understanding of technical and financial aspects of M&E projects.
* Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
* Strong creative writing ability with an understanding of PQQ’s.
