We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and neuroaffirmative Personal Assistant (PA) to support a teenage boy who thrives in environments that promote autonomy, emotional safety, and validation. This role is ideal for someone with experience or interest in working alongside neurodivergent young people using a strength‑based, person‑centred approach.
Responsibilities
* Be calm, emotionally attuned, and responsive, with a strong commitment to neuroaffirmative practice.
* Demonstrate understanding of sensory processing, anxiety, and the impact of transitions and change on neurodivergent individuals.
* Be confident in taking a flexible and intuitive approach, rather than task‑focused support.
* Have a genuine interest in building connection through shared interests, particularly outdoors and nature‑based activities.
* Value autonomy and agency, always working with the young person, not on or to them. This is a part‑time position for 6 hours per week term time and 10 hours per week non‑term time, with an hourly rate of £12.71 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and workplace pension scheme.
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance (the cost of which will be met by the employer).
