Specialist English Teacher - (SEMH)
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Northumberland
Contract: Full-time, term-time + 3 days in school holidays
Salary: £120–£170 per day (depending on qualifications and experience)
Requirement: QTS or QTLS
Working Days: Monday to Friday, term time only

The Role
You’ll deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that reignite curiosity and help students rediscover success in learning. Working with small groups, you’ll use creative, trauma-informed strategies to build trust, resilience, and academic progress.
You will:
Plan and deliver tailored English or Maths lessons aligned with individual learning pathways
Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of abilities and needs
Create a calm, supportive environment that promotes confidence and engagement
Work closely with colleagues to support each learner’s academic and emotional development
Guide and collaborate with teaching assistantsAbout You We’re looking for a teacher who:
Has at least 3 years’ experience working with SEN and/or challenging behaviours
Is confident in behaviour management and trauma-informed practice
Is passionate about helping students re-engage with English or Maths
Prioritises safeguarding and student wellbeing
