Senior Accountant
Company Accountant – SME EnvironmentLocation: Ascot (5 days on-site) Salary: Up to £45,000Are you an experienced, hands‑on Company Accountant looking to take ownership of day‑to‑day finance operations within a growing SME? A well‑established business in Ascot is seeking a proactive and commercially minded accountant to join their team full‑time in the office.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a close‑knit environment, enjoys variety, and wants to be at the heart of an organisation’s financial operations.What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing daily accounting operations including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journals, and month‑end tasks
* Producing accurate financial reports to support leadership decision‑making
* Handling VAT returns and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards
* Managing UK movement of goods processes including documentation, compliance, and cost tracking
* Overseeing cashflow and supporting budgeting and forecasting
* Working closely with operational teams to streamline processes and improve financial visibility
* Supporting year‑end preparation and liaising with external accountants
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in an SME finance environment where you’ve been involved in broad, hands‑on accounting
* Strong operational accounting skills with confidence managing day‑to‑day finance
* Proficiency with Xero (essential)
* Solid VAT knowledge and experience with UK movement of goods
* A relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA – part‑qualified or qualified)
* A proactive, detail‑driven mindset with the ability to work independently
* Comfort working on‑site full‑time in a collaborative office environment
