Role Description
This is a full-time role based in London for a Hybrid Construction Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor. This position combines project management, commercial management, and estimating responsibilities, requiring a well-rounded individual capable of both delivering live projects and pricing new opportunities. The role is primarily office-based with regular site visits to oversee progress, direct site teams, and resolve issues. Key responsibilities include managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification, preparing and managing project costings, budgets, and financial tracking, producing applications for payment, valuations, and variations, and reading and breaking down drawings to identify and prevent issues before they arise on site. The role also involves managing procurement and ordering of materials to ensure correct specification and best value, maintaining strong cost control throughout, and leading or assisting with tendering and pricing new projects, including detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns. The successful candidate will be expected to take a hands-on approach, supporting site teams and ensuring works are executed correctly and efficiently.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a hybrid Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor / Estimator role
* Strong ability to read, interrogate, and break down technical drawings with a high level of accuracy
* Demonstrable experience in tendering, pricing, and producing detailed cost plans and take-offs
* Confident in managing project finances, including valuations, applications for payment, and variations
* Strong commercial awareness with a track record of maintaining cost control and protecting margins
* Ability to independently manage both project delivery and commercial functions with minimal supervision
* Hands-on approach with confidence in attending site, directing teams, and resolving technical issues
* Experience delivering residential or refurbishment projects within London or similar environments
* Working knowledge of JCT contracts and standard construction procurement routes
* Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field preferred
