Seymour John Recruitment are in partnership with a business based in Welshpool who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team.
Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to take ownership of the end-to-end sales and purchase ledger processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments and collections, and supporting the finance team with both month-end and year-end responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities
* Process and post sales/purchase invoices and credit notes using Sage 50.
* Reconcile invoices using stock control and weighbridge software.
* Manage supplier self-bill process and ensure timely payment runs.
* Ensure purchase orders follow internal approval processes.
* Resolve sales and purchase ledger queries promptly.
* Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations.
* Manage credit control in line with customer terms and KPIs.
* Handle weekly BACS payments, employee expenses, and company card transactions.
* Support month-end/year-end reporting and compliance with data protection regulations.
* Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc finance tasks as needed.
Requirements
* Entry-level AAT qualification or equivalent experience in a similar accounts role.
* Strong credit control background.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency with Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel is desirable.
