Rate of Pay: £15.06 - £19.11 per hour
Summary:
The Technical Assistant will provide high-quality, efficient, and responsive administrative and technical support to the councils Place and Economy Services. The role involves managing casework, maintaining accurate records, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation such as the Building Regulations 2010 and the Building Act 1984.
This role is ideal for a motivated team player with strong attention to detail and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting service delivery, improving customer experience, and maintaining operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver professional, accurate, and timely case management services across a range of service areas.
* Undertake casework that requires understanding of service-specific processes, regulations, and legislation.
* Ensure that all correspondence, documentation, and records are completed accurately and stored in compliance with GDPR and council procedures.
* Provide technical and administrative support to the Building Control, Planning, and Land Charges teams, including validating applications and maintaining registers.
* Coordinate and process incoming customer queries, reports, and notifications within agreed timescales.
Qualifications:
* 5 GCSEs (Grades AC) or equivalent, including English and Maths.
Requirements:
* Experience working in a construction-related administrative or technical support role (or equivalent).
* Experience managing workloads in a busy office environment and working to strict deadlines.
* Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a front-line or administrative setting.
* Understanding of the Building Regulations 2010 and Building Act 1984, or willingness to develop this knowledge.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
* Experience using digital case management systems and maintaining accurate records.
