Operational Services are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. As the Grounds Maintenance Vendor Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure that Yorkshire Waters Strategic Grounds Maintenance (GM) service providers consistently deliver the required level of service throughout the contract period, aligning with both business objectives and customer expectations. You are accountable for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of GM activities within Yorkshire Water systems, including ensuring the integrity of GIS data. In addition, you must understand and adhere to the standards outlined in the companys quality system. A key part of your role is to actively promote and model a positive safety culture by ensuring timely reporting of near misses, accidents, and incidents, and by conducting thorough investigations when necessary. you will Act as the primary point of contact for all contracted services under your supervision, including Grounds Maintenance, Winter Maintenance, Pest Control, and ad hoc suppliers. Undertake site audits weekly to ensure ongoing safety, compliance and efficiency on all operational sites. Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping of all PPMs, reactive orders, asset inventories, and site maps, including conducting six-monthly audits of the asset register. Monitor contractor performance against SLAs, support investigations into service variations, and provide timely updates to the GM Manager. Lead on health and safety compliance by supporting policy updates, training rollouts, attending H&S meetings, auditing vendor compliance, and ensuring contractor RAMS meet YW standards. Maintain and regularly update SharePoint trackers with accurate contractor/supplier data, and manage key issuance records in an auditable electronic format. Support procurement processes by preparing tender documentation and developing business cases to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Review and audit invoices for discrepancies, support cost-saving initiatives, and promote innovation to enhance value across contracts. Deputise for the GM Manager as needed, act as a First Aider and Fire Marshal, and champion continuous improvement through technology and self-development. What skills & qualifications you will need: Relevant Ground maintenance experience and knowledge. Relevant H&S knowledge (Example SMSTS). MS Office applications Performance management within a front-line customer service role. You will also benefit from having: GIS Systems IOSHH or similar qualification Member of role related professional body.
