Position details Role: Year 2 Teacher — Lambeth Start date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent, Full-Time About the role The Year 2 Teacher will plan differentiated lessons, lead phonics and guided-reading sessions, run targeted group work and maintain accurate assessment records. The Year 2 Teacher will work closely with the EYFS and KS1 team to ensure continuity of provision and will support parents through termly updates and learning conversations. Key responsibilities Deliver high-quality Year 2 lessons that prioritise phonics progression and early reading skills. Use daily assessment to identify gaps and run timely small-group interventions that accelerate progress. Work collaboratively with support staff to scaffold activities and monitor attainment across the cohort. Communicate progress and next steps to parents and engage them in home-learning strategies in Lambeth. Contribute to whole-school events, safeguarding and pastoral systems. Person specification Qualified teacher with proven KS1 experience and secure phonics knowledge. Organised, nurturing and able to establish purposeful classroom routines.
