Salary: £46,177.30 including £3,000 additional allowances + 5% salary increase in recognition of shift and weekend working
Contract: Permanent - Monday-Sunday
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified electrician to join our team at HMP Huntercombe, a Category C men’s prison. The Facilities Maintenance Team operates as a self‑contained city, and as an electrician you will work alongside plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners and other specialists to create a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
This role offers the chance to use your skills to support rehabilitation and positive change within the prison community. You will be part of a supportive, inclusive family that works Monday to Sunday, and you will help maintain the smooth and safe operation of the facility.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S) – e.g., 2367 or 2357.
* Two years’ experience working as a fully qualified electrician
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
* Good health & safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills
