Conservation Architect Bespoke Private Residential Projects | UK
My client is seeking an experienced and talented Conservation Architect to join their growing team, working on a portfolio of high-end, bespoke private residential projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, creative, and motivated individual looking to develop a rewarding career within a collaborative and design-led environment. The role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of projects, including new-build homes, heritage and listed buildings, and sensitive renovations and extensions. You will play a key role in delivering projects across all RIBA work stages, contributing both technically and creatively, while managing responsibilities independently and as part of a wider consultant team.
About You
You are a confident and driven architect with a passion for high-quality residential design and an interest in heritage or contextual architecture. You enjoy taking ownership of projects and are equally comfortable working independently or collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams. You are a strong communicator who can build trust with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, and you bring both creativity and technical precision to your work. You are organised, commercially aware, and thrive in a role where you can balance design excellence with practical delivery.
Key Requirements
* Minimum 5+ years post-qualification professional experience
* Proven experience delivering projects across all RIBA work stages
* Strong technical knowledge of traditional residential detailing
* Experience with high-end bespoke residential projects (preferred)
* Thorough understanding of UK planning policy, building regulations, and construction methods
* Excellent design and technical detailing skills
* Ability to manage projects independently and within multi-agency teams
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Experience in programme management, budgeting, and financial control of projects
* Knowledge of building contracts and contract administration
* A practical and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
* Working knowledge of ArchiCAD (advantageous but not essential – training provided)
* Interest in traditional or classical architecture (beneficial but not essential)
* Willingness to travel within the UK
