Overview
We are seeking 3 proactive and reliable Warehouse Goods-In Operatives, to join our dedicated team, at our Dartford Operations hub (relocating to Aylesford December 2025) and our Sheffield hub. In these pivotal roles you\'ll work primarily in the yard area, with a key focus on managing the processing of returned goods and ensuring they are cleaned and prepared for re-use or dispatch. As a key member of the warehouse team you\'ll ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and compliance.
Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect and record incoming goods against delivery documentation for accuracy, quality and tracking.
* Assess, sort and report any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues to the Warehouse Team Leader.
* Log all received items into the inventory management system promptly.
* Clean returned goods and equipment using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
* Store goods in designated locations (yard or warehouse), ensuring proper handling and security.
* Operate forklifts or other yard machinery (if certified), ensuring safe handling of materials.
* Maintain a clean and organised goods-in area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with other warehouse operatives to support overall warehouse operations.
* Carry out other warehouse duties as required to ensure efficiency and productivity.
* Liaise with internal teams such as Quality Control, Repairs, and Inventory to coordinate the flow of goods.
* Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and company policies.
* Identify and report any safety or maintenance issues in the yard or equipment.
* Support general yard duties, including loading/unloading vehicles and assisting with deliveries as required.
Requirements
* Prior experience in a goods-in or warehouse role. (E)
* Forklift truck certification is beneficial, but training can be provided. (D)
* Strong attention to detail and meticulous organisational skills. (E)
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. (E)
* Good communication skills. (E)
* A basic understanding of inventory management systems is an advantage. (D)
* Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items as necessary. (E)
* Knowledge of health and safety standards in warehouse operations. (E)
