Overview
Applications are invited for a permanent 9.5 PA ophthalmology Locum consultant to The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust Department of Ophthalmology. The post holder will cover general ophthalmology and contribute to developing the department for the future.
The role aims to transform ophthalmology services at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital by applying Royal College and national recommendations such as Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) to deliver a sustainable and modern department.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
* Full GMC Registration
* Relevant CCT or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by PMET/GMC by date if AAC)
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register OR eligible within 6 months of the date of the AAC
* FRCOphth or equivalent
* Good understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice as set by the General Medical Council
Desirable
* BSC or higher postgraduate training
Clinical Experience
Essential
* Evidence of broad-based training
* Sub-specialty training to fellowship level
* Evidence of teaching to meet the requirements of junior doctors and nurses
* Evidence of continuing medical education (CPD)
* Wide and in-depth training in cataract surgery
* Track record in delivering management initiatives
Desirable
* Perform cataract surgery independently
