Join our team as an MOT Tester/Technician and be part of a dynamic automotive service environment. We are seeking a skilled individual with mechanical knowledge and experience in the motor vehicle industry. Your expertise in mechanical knowledge and attention to detail will be crucial in performing accurate and thorough MOT tests on vehicles.
*Responsibilities:*
* Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, including cars and vans
* Inspect vehicles for safety and emissions compliance according to regulatory standards
* Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform necessary tests and inspections
* Identify any faults or defects in vehicle components or systems that may affect their roadworthiness
* Provide clear and concise reports on test results and any necessary repairs or maintenance
* Maintain accurate records of all tests conducted and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
* Keep up-to-date with changes in MOT testing standards and regulations
* During your role you will be required to carry out maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles
*Requirements:*
* Valid MOT Tester license
* Prior experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive role
* Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify faults or defects
* Good communication skills to effectively explain test results to customers
* Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Physical ability for heavy lifting and manual dexterity for using hand tools
* Mechanical knowledge to diagnose and rectify vehicle issues
* Proficiency in using power tools for maintenance and repair work
* Ability to lift heavy objects during inspections
* Competence in utilizing hand tools for various automotive tasks
*Salary *
Monday - Friday
08:00 - 17:30 shift hours
£28,000 - £33,000 basic salary depending on experience and capability.
08:00 - 12:30 Saturday mornings are optional for overtime paid at time x 1.5
Monthly pay
28 Days holiday (including bank holidays)
