We’re a fast-growing law firm specialising in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury, and we’re looking for a talented Cost Draftsperson to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong drafting skills and a keen eye for detail to play a vital role in ensuring costs are accurately prepared, managed, and recovered. You will work closely with our legal teams, providing expert support and advice, helping to shape cost strategies, and contributing directly to the success of the firm.

Main Responsibilities:
15. Preparation of detailed bills of costs, costs schedules and costs estimates.
16. Review of opponent’s points of dispute and preparation of replies.
17. Preparation of costs budgets.
18. Reviewing opponents’ costs budgets, preparing BDR’s, Precedent T’s and entering into negotiations.
19. Potential to attend CCMC hearings.
20. Ensuring that the quality of work produced is to the highest standard.
21. Management of daily workloads as well as achieving service level agreements.
22. Be able to work to deadlines and prioritise matters to ensure targets are delivered.
23. Ensuring that the Client is regularly updated as to the current situation on matters;
24. Ensuring that care is taken to ensure good working relationships with internal colleagues;
25. Being responsible for maximising the firms profitability whilst maintaining the highest Client care standard;
26. Adhering to the firm’s policies.
27. Any other duties as reasonably required by the business.
Essential Skills and Experience:
28. Proven experience of drafting bills of costs and costs budgets
29. Experience of Proclaim
30. Experience of Cost Master
31. Organisational, planning and communication skills
32. Excellent customer service skills
33. Good general IT skills
34. Time management
35. Ability to use initiative
36. Working effectively within a team.
37. Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
