Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Government has launched the Families First Partnership programme (FFP) which builds on the work of the Families First for Children (FFC) Pathfinder programme as part of the government’s children’s social care implementation strategy, Stable homes, built on love.
The FFCP programme responded to recommendations from:
·The Independent Review of Children’s Social Care, and
·The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel’s report on child protection in England
From July 3 to March 5, ten FFCP local partnerships worked as ’pathfinder’ sites developed, designed and tested radical reforms.
Its objective was to design and implement a new, end-to-end system for children’s social care reform, focusing on four key areas:
·Strengthening multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
·Establishing targeted, multi-disciplinary Family Help services for children and families eligible for or receiving targeted early help and/or Child in Need services.
·Introducing expert-led, dedicated Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams (MACPTs), including lead child protection practitioners and an expanded parental support offer.
·Providing practical and financial support for family networks throughout the reformed system.
These reforms build on a system already undergoing change and the local Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnerships are keen to build on their progress so far. There is a strong commitment to collaborate closely
These changes will have a significant impact on frontline delivery, and successful Pathfinder areas were characterised by strong relationships and early engagement from senior leaders across police, health, education, childcare settings, the voluntary sector and other relevant partners. This was underpinned by a clear structure – including a Programme Management Office (PMO), themed workstreams, and active risk management.
We are therefore looking for a dedicated Health Co-ordinator to work with the Derby and Derbyshire FFP programme teams across Derby and Derbyshire ICS footprint.
The Health Co-ordinator will play a key role in driving progress by establishing regular FFP health meetings with leads from across the system – including mental health, acute and community services, the ICB, Primary Care, and Public Health commissioners. This coordinated approach will be vital to ensuring health partners are engaged and have a clear understanding of what is being asked of them, and that Partners are supported to understand how Health can best support the FFP.
