The first new nuclear power station in the UK in over 20 years, Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs, and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Marking a significant milestone in revitalising the UK's nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. What you'll be doing
Assist QA Area Lead in ensuring that the Project Quality Assurance requirements are understood and implemented, and to ensure that client and statutory requirements are effectively met. Support QA Area Lead in developing standards, incorporating lessons learned and best practices in the quality system, conducting training on quality, audits, and quality improvements. Maintain professionalism in all dealings related to the contract. Report on quality metrics to measure the performance of the works. Assist in audits on project activities as per schedule and ad hoc requests. Review lifetime quality records for compliance. Interact cross-functionally with project team members and management. Maintain CAR/NCR logs and lessons learned. Contribute to management reports in support of QA activities. Champion Foreign Material Exclusion to prevent ingress or entrapment of non-specified materials, loose items, or debris during assembly and testing. Who we're looking for
Qualifications in an engineering discipline, ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent experience. Preferred membership of Chartered Quality Institute and IRAC auditor training. Experience in progressively responsible quality engineering roles. Ability to gain security clearance. Why work for us
