Your Mission:
As a Principal Product Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our products. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Provide expert advice on product safety to project and engineering managers, ensuring compliance with safety standards (DEF STAN 0055/0056).
* Engage with third parties to review and gather essential safety case evidence.
* Develop robust safety arguments using various analysis methods (FHA/STPA/FMEA/FTA) and maintain safety case documentation.
* Lead and mentor other safety practitioners, fostering a culture of safety excellence.
* Apply ALARP principles to ensure optimal safety outcomes.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Proficiency in safety engineering processes, practices, and tools.
* Strong understanding of safety engineering and assurance principles.
* Qualified engineers from other disciplines with a passion for safety engineering are encouraged to apply!
Desirable:
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and engage stakeholders effectively.

About the Combat Systems Safety Team:
Join a dynamic team of engineers and technical specialists focused on both In-Service and In-Build Combat Systems. You’ll have the chance to develop safety arguments while exploring new technologies and sensor systems. We welcome candidates with military, defense, and maritime experience to help us deliver top-notch products for submarines. Relocation support packages are available for eligible roles.
