Provide day-to-day support for construction technical assurance on Curzon Street Station, working with delivery teams, designers, suppliers and assurance stakeholders. The role supports technical assurance processes across design, construction, testing, handover and close‑out, with a focus on TARs, SAPs and handover readiness. This suits an engineer with HS2 Technical Assurance experience or similar experience on a major rail, transport, infrastructure or complex building project where assurance, compliance, verification and evidence‑led handover are key. The role supports MDJV technical assurance processes, requirements and compliance management, construction assurance, evidence collation and stage‑gate/certification readiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate and help close out Technical Assurance Reviews (TARs) and audits, maintaining action trackers and supporting evidence collation.
* Provide day‑to‑day assurance support to construction and delivery teams to ensure works follow approved designs, specifications, standards and acceptance criteria.
* Support inspections, surveillance, evidence reviews and readiness checks, and help close out technical issues, non‑conformances and assurance gaps.
Single Assurance Packs (SAPs) and handover
* Support the setup, structure and management of Single Assurance Packs (SAPs – L3 Certificate, VVM Matrix, CSR) for assets, systems, areas or work packages in line with the assurance delivery model and TLC stages.
* Coordinate and review assurance evidence (design, construction, testing and handover records), track SAP maturity/readiness, and ensure evidence is complete and traceable.
* Support handover planning and readiness, tracking key deliverables (assurance records, as‑builts, test results, inspection records, completion packs) and helping close out actions that could affect completion or handover.
Support to the Lead Technical Assurance Manager
* Support coordination of technical assurance across Curzon Street Station and prepare concise reports on TAR actions, SAP progress, audits and key risks.
* Support meetings, reviews and workshops with internal and external stakeholders and escalates emerging risks and blocked actions in a timely manner.
Technical skills and Competencies
* Technical/systems/project assurance or construction assurance on major infrastructure or complex building projects.
* Supporting TARs, audits or similar reviews, including action management and close‑out.
* Providing day‑to‑day assurance support to construction/engineering teams.
* Setting up or managing assurance packs, completion files or handover/verification records.
* Tracking and reporting assurance status, actions, risks and documentation readiness.
* Working with multiple stakeholders (design, construction, subcontractors, client, assurance/quality).
* Understanding of technical compliance, controlled documentation, evidence traceability and assurance governance.
Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
* Educated to a degree level or equivalent in an engineering, construction, or other numerate discipline (extensive experience in a similar role may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
* Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple actions and stakeholders.
* Clear written and verbal communication; able to produce concise, accurate technical reports.
* Strong attention to detail and disciplined approach to evidence and records.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and common project information/document control systems; professional membership or working towards it is an advantage.

* Valid CSCS card holder.
