MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To be responsible for the operation of the plant in accordance with the agreed company standards and specifications in order to ensure the safe, continuous, effective and efficient production of excellent quality Celotex Products
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential:
* A strong awareness and respect for Health & Safety and the Environment
* Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment
* Demonstrate flexibility, and adaptability with the ability to work under pressure
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team with minimum supervision
* Proven track record of being reliable with attendance and timekeeping
* To have a detailed knowledge of the safe and correct operation of all required production machinery and equipment
* Is committed to delivering high quality in everything they do: able to demonstrate tenacity in overcoming obstacles and challenge.
* Be open to working in a production environment with varying temperatures
* A commitment to learning and keeping skills and knowledge up to date
Desirable:
* To have an awareness of WCM and / or Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies
* Hold a valid and current counterbalance forklift Truck Licence
* Be IT literate
MAIN TASKS OF THE JOB:
· Safely and correctly operate production machinery and equipment
· Ensures correct procedures and isolations are followed at all times
· Always considers the safety and environmental aspects of the task before executing it
· Demonstrates an absolute commitment to the safety of themselves and others
· Safely and correctly handles all chemicals and materials. Is familiar with all raw materials including chemicals, facing and packaging and follows all instructions relating to them at all times
· Is aware of the environmental routines and measures relative to their area
· Reports all incidents / near misses and is proactive in engaging with safety systems and routinely has safety conversations
· Puts forward suggestions to improve the site's safety and environmental performance
· Follows the production plan and selects the correct chemicals and materials required. Makes necessary and authorised adjustments to the equipment to make the best quality products, informing the Production Team Leader and/or Shift Manager of any problems, issues or shortages to ensure the appropriate remedial action to resolve them is taken
· Works to the agreed standard operating procedures
· Understands the importance of consistent quality and works to achieve this while on shift
· Has a good understanding of product quality, standards and customer requirements
· Ensures all required data and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
· Understands continuous improvement methodology/techniques and uses these to support the identification of losses and improvement opportunities
· Ensures all changeovers are completed as efficiently as possible
· Completes all sampling and quality testing as required and keeps the Shift Manager and Quality Control team informed of any issues
· Rejects any suspect material (Raw Materials or Finished Goods) and escalates to line manager to ensure manufacture of quality products
· Take part in and fulfil allocated 'maintainer' duties relating to TPM, 5S, AM (Autonomous Maintenance), cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and housekeeping of the plant and equipment
· Ensures tags are raised for any equipment not performing correctly, liaising with engineering to support the remedial work
· Support all plant trials and aid their evaluation
· Train and provide guidance to all Engineers and Operators as required
· Assists with adding the required details of the shift performance and facilitates an effective handover
· Engages in effective communication with the Production Team Leader on all aspects of their role and the operation
· Is planned, organised and focused in order to meet the production requirements
· Willing to go the extra mile (safely)
· Works with colleagues to identify and eliminate errors and performance deficit at root cause level

Shift Pattern:
Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday days
Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights
Week 3 - Monday, Tuesday days / Thursday nights, Friday nights
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £31,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
