Quantum Scholars are currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Bedfordshire who are seeking a qualified and experienced Media Studies Teacher to join them immediately. This is a long-term role continuing through to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position. The successful candidate must be confident teaching Media Studies up to A-Level. The school is a co-educational secondary with a sixth form, known for its commitment to academic excellence, personal development and strong pastoral care. They deliver a broad, knowledge-rich curriculum across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, and have been rated "Good" by Ofsted. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, analytical and well-structured Media Studies lessons across KS4 and KS5. Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE and A-Level Media Studies examinations, ensuring strong progress and attainment. Teach key areas of the curriculum including media language, representation, media industries and audiences. Develop students' critical thinking, analytical writing and coursework production skills. Support pupils with both the theoretical and practical components of the course. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achieving students and those with SEND. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes excellent behaviour and academic engagement. Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies. Provide clear, constructive feedback to support coursework and exam preparation. Contribute to curriculum planning and the continued development of the Media department. Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings and wider school events. Uphold the school's safeguarding policies and maintain high professional standards at all times. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. A degree in Media Studies, Film Studies, Communications or a closely related subject. Proven experience teaching Media Studies at secondary level. Essential: Experience teaching Media Studies up to A-Level. Strong subject knowledge of current specifications and assessment requirements. Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and challenge students academically. A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). The right to work in the UK.
